U.N. chief appeals for countries to take Iran dissidents

REUTERS UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon appealed on Thursday for countries to consider resettling several thousand Iranian dissidents living in Iraq who were recently moved to a former U.S. military base in Baghdad from a camp where they lived for decades. In a report to the Security Council, Ban said 3,112 members of the People's Mujahideen Organization of Iran have been transferred to Camp Hurriya, leaving about 100 still at Camp Ashraf - also know as Camp New Iraq - to help close it down. Bullet hits resident’s bed in a trailer in Liberty’s section one

-Liberty’s excessively small area, living inside trailers, and prohibition of constructing buildings have made residents highly vulnerable On the afternoon of Tuesday, November 27, a bullet fired by a Kalashnikov from the north-east direction of Camp Liberty pierced through the ceiling of a trailer in Liberty’s section 1 and hit a resident’s bed. Fortunately, the resident was not present. According to expert opinions, the bullet was fired from a relatively close range outside the Camp, and had it hit an individual, it would have been fatal or would have resulted in serious injuries. Iranian regime and Iraqi agents in Camp Ashraf to make disinformation movie on PMOI (MEK)

A number of members of Iranian regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), Iraqi intelligence officers, and the agents of Iranian regime's terrorist Qods supported by Iraqi forces entered Camp Ashraf on Monday and began filming in Ashraf's evacuated buildings for propaganda against the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).  Some agents were holding microphones and professional cameras carrying Iranian regime's state  television logo. The Iranian regime’s Ambassador instructs the Government of Iraq to prevent the sale of Ashraf residents’ properties and entry of merchants to Ashraf

According to reports received from within the Iranian regime by the Iranian resistance, the mullahs’ regime has given new orders to the Government of Iraq to prevent the sale of Ashraf residents’ properties and to increase pressure and siege on the PMOI members in Camp Liberty. UNHCR: By the end of 2013, half of Liberty residents will be resettled in third countries

Camp Liberty- No. 59 • Iranian Resistance urgently calls on UN Secretary-General and High Commissioner to assign Camp Liberty as a refugee camp and to end TTL designation Annual report of the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), which appeared on its website on November 19, wrote about Liberty residents under ‘Main objectives and targets for 2013’: "Resettlement is sought for 1,500 Camp New Iraq residents for whom other solutions cannot be found".
