NCRI – While two and a half months has passed since the transfer of Ashraf residents to Camp Liberty has started, cruel and inhuman siege of residents that had begun two and a half years ago in Camp Ashraf, continues in Camp Liberty.

1 – Iraqi forces prevent workers from entering for repairs to sanitary services. Camp Liberty showers made for American soldiers, do not have doors. After several weeks endeavoring, finally, residents were able to buy a number of doors and bring to Camp Liberty. But now they can not install the doors and locksmiths are prevented from coming to Camp Liberty.

2 – It has been three days that the Iraqi government has prevented entry of a limited number of seedlings for planting in the dry climate of Camp Liberty that were bought by the residents. The seedlings are being lost.

3 – Meanwhile, it has been more than two months that the entry and installation of mesh canopy that belongs to the residents is prevented. This is while the warming of the weather, these canopies are greatly needed.

4 – Repair or replacing damaged air conditioners is prevented. Residents are not allowed to bring working air conditioners from Camp Ashraf and to replace them. Despite Iraqi government’s repeated promises, it continues not to replace or repair them.

These limitations are while the MOU signed between the Iraqi government and the UN on December 25, 2011, states: “It allows residents to enter into bilateral agreements with contractors to provide living necessities and requirements, such as water, food, communications, cleaning, and maintenance and reconstruction equipments at their own cost”.

The Iraqi government representative in Camp Liberty is Sadiq Mohammad Kazem who has had direct responsibility for the massacres of 2011 and 2009. He has close relationship with the Iranain regime’s embassy in Baghdad and receives his orders from them.
