Camp Ashraf Massacre Death Toll Reaches 23 and Climbing

Posted on September 1, 2013September 9, 2015 by USCCAR

The death toll of this morning raid by Iraqi forces against the defenseless and unarmed Iranian residents of Camp Ashraf in Iraq has climbed to 23 as of 10:00 Baghdad local time.

At least five of the residents were shot at close range while they were handcuffed. Many injured residents are in critical condition. The ongoing attack, carried out under the command of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is turning into a whole-scale massacre. The attacking Iraqi force first fired RPG rockets by into the residents’ residents and then opened fire at the resident.

Since last night the commander of the Diyala province’s police commander Jamil Shemeri along with a number of criminal officers from the Iraqi Prime Ministry had been stationed in Camp Ashraf to direct the fifth massacre at Camp Ashraf.

The Iranian resistance calls for urgent action by UNAMI and the American Embassy in Iraq to immediately dispatch a delegation to Camp Ashraf in order to prevent the continuation of the massacre of the residents.

Qassem Sulleimani, the commander of the Iranian regime’s Quds Force, had personally ordered al-Maliki last Tuesday to carry out the fifth massacre of Camp Ashraf residents, the information from Iran reveals.

Maliki has ordered the Iraqi Prime Ministry staff to deny the killings in Camp Ashraf when they are questioned by the United Nations and other international organizations.
