Camp Ashraf hostages have been transferred to al-Amara to be handed over to the Iranian regime
U.S. and UN should intervene immediately to prevent extradition
NCRI – Following revelations on details of the arrest and the location were the seven Camp Ashraf hostages are held by the Iraqi government, spokesman for Iraqi prime ministry Ali al-Moussavi, in a ludicrous attempt to escape international consequences of this great crime at the behest of the Iranian regime, declared: “Government of Iraq has no plan to handover Camp Ashraf residents to Tehran.”
Mullahs’ regime media and news agencies gave extensive coverage to this ludicrous denial out of the need of the clerical regime to continue with its criminal plan.
If Maliki and his government have no such intentions, they should immediately release and return the seven PMOI (MEK) members that they abducted on September 1 to hand over to the Iranian regime.
Falsifications by Maliki’s spokesman is while on Tuesday afternoon, September 10, they transferred the seven hostages with four helicopters of the prime ministry that were extremely protected from Baghdad to al-Amara city south of Iraq to be sent to Iran. Al-Amara province is under extensive influence and control of the terrorist Qods Force.
On September 1, Iraqi forces transferred the arrestees via a route that is completely under control of Iraqi forces with two vehicles that belong to residents to the other side of Ashraf’s Northern berm that since 2011 has been under occupation of Iraqi forces. Then changing vehicles they transferred the hostages to Baghdad. Prior to their transfer to al-Amara, hostages were under control of Head of the Office of Commander in Chief of Armed forces in the Prime Ministry and were kept at a location near Baghdad airport.
Hostages are all ‘protected persons’ under the Fourth Geneva Convention and as stipulated by the High Commissioner for Refugees are asylum-seekers and ‘people of concern’ who are entitled to international protection.
The Iranian Resistance calls on U.S. President, Secretary of State, the UN Secretary General, and the High Commissioner for Refugees with direct responsibility for the security of the hostages to urgently intervene to prevent extradition of hostages by Iraqi government to the mullahs’ regime and to secure their immediate release.
