France on Friday condemned a rocket attack in Iraq Thursday against a refugee facility that houses Iranian opposition group, Mujahedeen Khalq, and their families.
France ‘calls on the Iraqi government to take the necessary steps to assure security’ in the Camp Liberty housing Iranians, a statement said.
The French Foreign Ministry also said that Paris fully supported UN efforts to find a solution to the camp situation and that the UN mission should ‘implement a peaceful and lasting solution to the situation with refugee camps in Iraq.’
The Iranian camps have come under repeated attack in past and the UN is trying to find a different facility for the refugees.
